Healing Diets Coach graduate, Laura Gualtieri, shares her journey towards studying natural medicine and her experience with her Healing Diets studies as she launches her own practice, and continues her studies towards her Naturopathy diploma! Laura will also be graduating as a Healing Diet Nutritional Consultant in October. Enjoy!
My journey to the School of Natural Medicine has been a long and slow one.
With a background in professional training, consultancy and then teaching, I have always been drawn to finding ways to help people love learning, like I do.
My mother-in-law and sister-in-law have been big influences on my interest in natural healing, taking me for magnesium baths and introducing me to crystals and herbal essences in my early twenties. It wasn’t until the birth of my first child, which posed some challenges, that I really started to become interested in natural healing in a way that I hadn’t been before. Now that I had the responsibility of a new and precious life, I wanted to do right by that.
What I had learned slowly but surely over the years with my acquired family, and through the experience of meeting people from around the world and absorbing philosophies for life that stayed with me, I was unknowingly preparing for discovering the School of Natural Medicine.
When I decided to take it seriously and study the subject, I wasn’t sure exactly what I was looking for. I just knew that I was excited about embarking on a journey that would equip me to help others heal naturally. When I came across SNM and spoke to Bonny about her approach and philosophy, I immediately felt drawn to the holistic nature and unique style of the course.
The Healing Diets course opened up so many doors for me and I am still busy exploring paths I never expected even existed. From the capacity of water to carry memory, to the deep dark history of healthcare, to detailed learning about the breadth of nutrition available from food and the politics surrounding food today, the scope for learning has been limited only by my own imagination and time.
The best thing about studying with the School of Natural Medicine is that I have not felt spoon-fed at any point. The structure of the course is such that at every stage, the subject encompasses many facets, and the responsibility of learning lies entirely in my hands as the student.
As I continue through my studies on my journey to qualifying as a Naturopath, I am excited to share my Healing Diets knowledge within my community. I now offer consultations as a Coach, as well as face-to-face workshops to get people excited about, and interested in, food as a healer. My practice is called Orange Blossom Healing, which is inspired by my mother-in-law, and you can find out more about what I do on my website. I am located in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, which is a beautiful coastal town full of restaurants and a strong health & wellbeing vibe. It is just one hour from London and well connected to many other beautiful parts of Essex.
We all, every one of us, have the innate ability to heal, and it is up to us to unleash the power of nature and let the magic happen.
With love and gratitude,
Laura x
